This process allows us to control the thatch on these playing surfaces. Like greens we may pull a core or just use a solid tine to punch the holes. Sand may or may not be used depending on the conditions at the start of aeration. The turf over the summer will become compacted and this helps us to promote good root structure for the remainder of fall and a good start to the winter months.
